FAQs
What kind of cuisine do you offer?
At Couple of Natas Catering, we pride ourselves on serving a delicious and vibrant range of food from across Portugal, Spain, and South America. Also, to shake things up and get you ready for the weekend, every last working day of the week is known as ‘Cowboy Day’, where we grab our straw hats and our speaker, and get some good old Texas BBQ going.
With such a wide range of flavours, we’ll have your crews happy, energised, and dreaming about tomorrow’s menu!
How do you differ from other catering companies
With backgrounds in both hospitality & events AND film, we know this industry is full of exciting menus and dynamic teams. We aren’t here to compete or overshadow anyone; we’re here to do what we love, support causes we love, and bring good food to hungry bellies!
We want to build our own little corner of the industry where we do good and make people feel good - both our customers and our teams - so join us and come see for yourself how we do things at Couple of Natas Catering.
Are you able to cater for all shoot times?
Get our bulldog clips on the curtains and our sleep masks, because we understand that art never sleeps. When you need us, we’ll be there!
Are you able to cater to Vegan and Gluten-Free diets?
Yup. At Couple of Natas Catering, we want EVERYONE to enjoy good, flavoursome food. No exceptions.
We cater to all dietary requirements, including (but not limited to): Vegan, Gluten Free, Halal, and more
Are your menus Halal?
We work very hard to make our menus as accessible and inclusive as possible. This includes ensuring as many of our recipes are halal as possible. Whilst some of our meat dishes include pork, we ensure that our chicken and beef is Halal (and if we ever receive or have to order any that isn’t due to stock availability, it will be clearly signposted). Also rest assured that we ALWAYS offer a fish or vegan option for every lunch service - choices choices!
Do you serve or stock nuts?
Long story short, no. We operate as a nut-free company. Whilst there is never a ways to 100% guarantee any space is free from any allergen, due to external factors, we work hard to ensure the safety of allergy sufferers.
It is with this in mind that we do not purchase, stock, or prepare anything containing nuts on any of our sites.
Please note that we DO handle sesame, however, which is linked to nut allergy due to cross-reactivity. If you are concerned at all about this please feel free to reach out to us.
Do you list allergens in your dishes
Absolutely! We list any of the 14 major allergens present in any dish we serve. As we have seen unclear allergen listing on handwritten signage in the past, we have opted to make ALL of our menus digital and presented clearly on television screens in our service spaces, helping you to stay aware of any allergens present in our mains, salads, desserts, etc.
Also, if you or any of your crew have an allergy that is not one of the top 14 allergens, please speak with us, and we are happy to include those in our allergen labels so everyone on your crews feel safe and seen.
Do you use compostable meal boxes, cutlery, etc?
We’ve seen a lot of waste in our time, and we want to minimise our contribution to it. It is with this in mind that we not only use compostable diningware, but we also take it a step further - We are always on the lookout for compostable, sustainable alternatives to catering essentials. We already utilise compostable cling films, oil recycling services, and work closely with specialist recycling companies to save as much as possible from landfill!
What happens with your leftovers?
We think food waste is terrible and unnecessary. This is why we work to minimise wastage through careful menu planning, being mindful of stock, and stocking versatile ingredients that don’t go to waste on just one menu item!
We also work closely with charities to ensure that anything can safely be donated is, as we are all about filling tummies and hearts.
Are you an eco-friendly company?
We understand that the use of resources is unfortunately part of the film industry, but that doesn’t mean we roll over and don’t try!
We make a considerable effort to minimise our single-use materials, to recycle as much as we can (even working with organisations that make biofuel, do specialist recycling, and more) and we will continue to strive to be kind to our planet, reduce landfill waste, and make sure we’re doing our bit to make this industry cleaner, kinder, and helping to build a future we want to see!
Are you able to accommodate last-minute changes?
We understand that this is the film industry, things change. One minute you’re setting up to shoot a cowboy gunfight in space, the next you’re having to pivot and shoot an underwater escape scene. Things move pretty fast, and we will do everything we can to roll with you and keep things running smoothly!
Obviously sometimes things aren’t possible, but we’ll do all we can to accommodate whatever you need, and work together to reach a happy solution and get back to making hectic, ever-changing, movie magic!
